In the next year, we aim to work on the following conservation and social issues: community’s right to use natural resources, mass tourism and professional skills development.

COMMUNITY'S RIGHTS TO USE NATURAL RESOURCES

Inhabitants of the Delta should be able to live off their land and achieve sustainable livelihoods. They should be able to have a say about and be involved in the protection of the nature they depend on.

MASS TOURISM

All of the local resources and infrastructure are tested to the limit, and because this influx coincides with the summer season, locals do not feel that they have the luxury of refusing to host people in their community. This leads to a race to the bottom tourism that is rapacious and unsustainable.

LACK OF PROFESSIONAL SKILLS

The local communities know they should add some financial value to the landscape beauty, their ecological knowledge or the peace and quiet they are surrounded by. But they either don’t know how to do it or they feel threatened by the outside from the community competition.
